The Programs of NYTC, Inc.
New York Therapeutic Communities, Inc. provides a continuum
of care that enables criminal justice clients to be re-integrated
back into society as responsible and tax-paying adults. This continuum
includes the two Stay'n Out
in-prison programs and the community-based residential Serendipity
programs in the borough of Brooklyn. Our NYTC, Inc. Probation Ambulatory Programs offer non-residential treatment to clients of the New York City Department of Probation, as well as support services to adolescent probationers.
Thus a man or a woman can receive effective substance abuse treatment while in prison; upon her or his release move into a residential program to facilitate his transition back into society; and finally benefit from continued services while living and working once more in the community.
Other persons who have been diverted from incarceration by being
placed on probation, by special treatment courts, or by other
alternative-to-incarceration programs like Treatment
Accountability for Safe Communities (TASC), are mandated to participate
in Serendipity I (for men) or Serendipity II (for women), or in one the NYTC, Inc. Probation Ambulatory Programs.
